I totally agree with the fact that an instructor must hold his or her students accountable. I've seen situations where an instructor didn't hold his students accountable for their work and so lost control of his class.

I agree with you both. I have seen this happen as well. Setting a good foundation is always helpful in the long run.

Setting expectations and enforcing these rules will help in a cohesive class setting. I find in my classroom if you give students leway in the rules they will continue to break more rules. At that point you will need to reign them back in.
