I think the PD training and interaction with the reps is crucial to building a strong foundation of success for the student right away. Using the checklist is great, but a knowledgable rep who can connect with the student and show a good relationship with that PD will go further to help that student make a good choice in career options.
Gail, our admin department receives product knowledge from us (PD's)on a quarterly basis, as well as what they have studied and know about the programs. And the study is correct, the more time they spend the more successful the student. Because, they come with the full knowledge of the expectations of the career choice and of the school. I totally agree with the study
Gail,
The Admissions rep should have some product knowledge to help with making that fit. There should be questions they can ask to help assess the fit.

What about the longer the checklist to get to know the applicant, the better the retention? While self checks are good, isn't it the responsibility of the admissions to spend as much time with the applicant to see if they are a good fit for the program they are applying for?
YULIET,
If this is used to help set student expectations and their learning then it can help retention.
