Effective Oreintation
I have seen positive results in both student performance and retention when they have gone through an oreintation that covered topics that can and will effect a students success in completing their school experience!
We do. On some occasions, we have to our detriment, because there were only one or two students in the late orientation, offered an 'abridged version'. Every student needs the same thorough orientation.
Ashley,
Thank you for sharing. Do you offer a late orientation for students that miss the first one? If so, does that make a difference.
Dr. Ron Hansen
We have tracked students who got an orientation and students who did not. Those who do not attend are much more likely to encounter problems that last throughout their program. As a matter of fact, when a student does not participate in orientation, we immediately identify them as high risk students and monitor them, especially in their first term.
