Retention
Our school has several differant times during the year when we address employment. We also keep track of all students who graduate and read Emails about thier sucess in getting a job. This really changes some students drive to want to finish all thier classes and in some cases they even want to do much better .
This is a great idea. Is this info shared with the students or only the staff?
Could you augment by having successful grads share what employers look for?
Dr. B
Our school has an excellent employment department they have a board where they post all the employment opportunities. They usually have employment assemblies through out the year.
I always tell the students the things I looked for as a shop owner when interviewing people and the things they could do so that they will have the edge on the other interviewers.
I talk to them about what my shop looked for in hireing process, how important school and certifications are.how much more valuable you are,how much easier it is to find the best work place with this.how I used these certifications for my on benefit for getting where I wanted to go in life.show them that they can do what ever it is they want to do in this field if they try.
