Improving your placement program

Improving your placement program at your school can be very effective if the students are inform or introduce from the very start date , and true their time during school about their future into the real world .(what to expect after you are finish with your school)

Yes, start them out on the right foot and things always go better. Be sure to link to career services early in the process. Remember, they want the job... If they see that others are graduating and obtaining employment, students are more likely to stick.

Much of this discussion reverts back to orientation perhaps even during the admissions process, where it should be made clear that Career Services is available, along with an advisee/mentoring program, the various clubs and activities, how often and where they meet and how all of this is communicated to the student body at large. The faculty should also be aware of all of this so as to encourage student participation.

Yes. What really happens is the student believes that you will deliver what you promised.

If student know that placement is avialable at the start of school it helps with retention because they dont have to worry about finding a job right after graduation and can apply more time to studies

Excellent points just like the course highlighted. With determination from all the different departments, with sound leadership, much could be done to improve retention numbers.
