Retention

Student retention is good for students, stsff, and financial interests. Scott Humphrey.

There is a difference between fun and goofing off.

Simple phone calls help retention, we show we care, just to check them if they don't show up to class. Also if the student is having trouble getting all the necessary support form student, at least we can guide them the right direction, that lead them to go back to school and complete their studies.

There has to be a balance between having fun and staying professional

Always pay close attention to your students and look for signs of lost HOPE. The chin in the chest could be an easy sign check out which are you stressed or tired? This will lead the student to open up and talk with you about their troubles if they have any. This is where you can direct the student in the right direction for staff support. The student feels that someone cares and starts regain hope.

We have to keep it fun so they want to come to school. Adding rules that force them into submission may be what is pushing them away
