The spirit of understanding the importance of the business of school with regard to providing excellent services to students and making certain within our own domain that students are treated with upmost respect.

Michael,

It appears that you like the term EduPreneurial
Spirit. It is something I can up with years ago to try to capture the essence of this sector of education.

The more that employees embrace this concept, as a culture of excellence, the more successful the campus becomes.

I appreciate your comments.

Customer service is often invoked in business discussions but rarely accurately defined and even more infrequently practiced. The EduPreneurial Spirit as described in this course is a very good description of how an educator must provide "customer service" to all of their customers. The key is to understand that the client is everyone they interact with and the service delivered is a balance of the needs of all of those clients. The student needs to be taught the hard and soft skills they are paying for yet they have obligations to pay their bills and perform the tasks required for them to lean those skills. Often it seems a conflict to discipline or fail a student when they "are paying for this". However it is in their best interest and the schools to do so when warranted.

Our school has embraced the idea of students being the customer. We also view industry as the customer. We actively advise students in matters ranging from recommending tutoring, to unplanned parenthood. These are all issues that come up in the daily lives of people, and let’s face it; we are in the people business. Industry also appreciates the value we place on their feedback, and our willingness to serve their best interest as often as possible. I believe this creates a sound business / education strategy. The number of choices for education in a post secondary environment is ever increasing; treating each student like a customer ensures we continue to be the school of choice.

Is important to make sure that all employee know the importance to make feel good the students because the Institution need students to continuing make bussiness.

The idea behind Edupreneurial Spirit is that every employee needs to understand that the school is also a business along with being an institution of higher learning. Do you have any examples of where this is in exsistence at your school?
