Making a Positive Impact
When students know their instructor is open to new ideas it creates a more positive atmosphere
I found out that By incorporating class discussions, open-ended questions, and cooperative learning I was able to facilitate a highly interactive and inquisitive class atmosphere.
I agree. I let my students know from day one that I have a open door policy. I feel that it is important for students to share any concerns or new ideas that they may have for the school or the curriculum.
Fatemeh,
What is the way you demonstrate that your students feel valued and significant?
Jeffrey Schillinger
I agree, creating a positive atmosphere for learning is an important step for students to feel valued and significant. Instructors that are reassuring and involve the students in activities are demonstrating that they actually care about the student and their success.
Not just a positive atmosphere but somewhere they feel safe to make mistakes and not be judged. This goes a long way in opening students up to learning.
The more available you are the better the experience for the student.
When I really pay attention, instead of just responding to their words, I create a more poisitive atmosphere and the students ability to understand and learn is always more positive.
