Motivation

What's your why and how big is it?

We have our student put their vision on paper in the beginning of their program. This way we are able to disburse it throughout the staff/faculty. It is nice to support the students for the end goal as well as help them see the end when they hit a rough patch.

Atul,

Projecting and maintaining a positive attitude during each class meeting is very important. What are one or two specific things you do to ensure all your students are motivated to learn that day's material?

Jeffrey Schillinger

Motivation is the key of learning. Make sure all students have desire to learn new contents. Maintain positive environment in classroom at all time.

I practice the same open door policy and constantly invite students in to sit and talk or to vent about their problems/frustrations. I try to make rounds every week to the classrooms to encourage students and remind them of their goals and that i am here to support them through their time in school.

Chuck,

Many schools do this, and it is a good thing. Finding ways to give other faculty and staff access to this information can really help to get everyone supporting the student and reminding the student of the "why" when they start to lose site of the goals in the midst of all the coursework and responsibilities.

I like to Ask students why are they here and what to they expect to get out of this class on the firrst day of class ..

I am the same way I always tell my student that they can come an talk to my about any subject or problem, I like to heard about their day. Alway motivate them to succeed in life, not to give up their dreams.I like to talk to them about my careeras a Dental assistant, how much I love to work with my patients.

I am big on motivating all students. I check with each student every day to see how he/she is doing. Reminding the student to keep their short and long term goals in mind is of great importance. I also have an open door policy for all my students to stop by to just sit and talk about their day.
