team effort

By working together you can overcome many hurdles !!

David,

Great Point! When we feel we have been a part of creating the goal we strive harder to achieve that goal. The "do it because I said so" does not work with children, it usually don't work with adults in the workplace.

One of the most important things that a mananger must do is ask for imput from the team. The mananger should try to use that input towards setting the common goal. You get much more cooperation when people feel that their opinions are valued and not just "do it because I said so". We all have a diverse set of talents that few manangers tap into or are even aware of.

Keith,

Teamwork and attitude are very important factors in achieving a goal. If everyone works as a team and has a positive attitude toward the goal, then it is easily completed with success.

Team effort is a very important part of any and every busness and house hold every one working together to achieve a goal will be more likly to achieve that goal

Philip,

You are correct. Retention is very important, however for some students, it just not the right time for them to be in school. Sometimes the need to get their ducks in a row before the can succeed in school.

I believe it's a manager's task to ensure that all are working toward a common goal. All may not agree, but all should be supportive in the decision-making process. We can't always be on the same page but understanding the goal of the team is important. Managers should also be open-minded with their team. Consider the fact that certain team members have certain attributes and manage to those attributes.

I can't agree more. Yes, student retention is an important goal, however every member of the staff must be a part of this goal, we shouldn't overlook an institution's basic values and core beliefs solely to keep students enrolled in classes.

It is important that everyone is on the same page and working toward the same goal.

There are times where that is the hardest part of our job. If you cannot get everyone to agree on a common goal things probably not work right.

I agree it is impossible to suceed unless you work as a team with you co workers.

IF the team does not work to gether we will fail at our goals.

That is true but you need everyone to be on board with that.

Rob,

this is very true. You may have heard the example of one horse pulling creates one horsepower, however if you have two horses pulling, it can create 3 to 4 horsepower. By simply working together we can accomplish much more.
