working together toward the same goal
Our administration has taken the time to encourage all of the staff to be a part of the mission statement and the ultimate goal of retention. I have found this to be an asset to the entire organization of our school. I know the were met with some resistance at first but i think the exercise has proven to be a positive one for all, especially the student retention. I'm proud to say it was something I had already been doing with my students. It is just second nature to me. But I did find myself being more involved with students that were not mine when I saw the need. And I realize the importance and impact it had on those students.
Thank you, Minerva.
Everyone indeed impacts retention, just as everyone impacts the achievement of placement, recruitment and financial aid goals. Some colleges formalize these relationships by including each area as a part of each employee's goals.
I beleieve it is very important to meet retention goals. I think every one should be invovled in student retention.
Thank you, Mark.
What are some specific things you do that demonstrate how you want to be treated as you deal with students?
Treat students as you would want to be treated. Lets say that you are dealing with a company and have a bad experience with one of the employees. It makes you feel as all are just like the bad experience that you had.
