attitude

your students feed off of your attitude

Pandora,

I often quote Swindoll in my speeches. His words clearly put the responsibility for my attitude on me. I make a choice.

Jeffrey Schillinger

Here are just a few quotes about" ATTITUDE" by Charles Swindoll that I would like to share. A fellow instructor gave them to me. Perhaps she felt that I had a negative attidude toward life in general or perhaps she felt it would get me through the day on positive attitude.
1. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the Attitude we will embrace for that day.
2. The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life It is more important than the past, than education than money, than circumstances, than failures than succcess, than what other people think or say or do.
The last thing per Mr Swindoll is "And so it is with you... We are in charge of our Attitudes."
I try to abide by these quote in my every day life.

Great post. and I agree, it is infectious, and hopefully they will pass it on too

I agree! A good attitude is infectious and not only can affect our students, but can affect everyone we come into contact with.

Demonstrating a positive and engaging attitude with students will help them soar to grea heights!

I very much agree with this statement. Particularly during a tough patch during the term, with a great deal of testing or finishing up, the tone of the school can become stressed and tense. I find that working hard to maintain a positive attitude and spread that in my interactions with students helps them step outside the negativity to focus on something positive for the moment.

It is important to portray a positive attitude at all times. Like negativity, positivity can spread like wildfire.

Gilda is right. Instructors have a significant impact on the student educational experience in the classroom. We are motivaters to the students.

Absolutely!! People in general people feed of one another's attitude and energy. I have a sign at the door in the shape of a clothes hanger that states "hang your problems at the door." That way we can continue to move on with our day. The same with myself I leave my problems at the door I don't become transparent so that the students are aware of any personal problems nor do I discuss them.

Lourdes,

Nice way to put it. Thanks!

Always i told my students ATTITUDE is the first spices in your recipe of success!!

if you came to work with bad attitude, its gone a be a long long day.

It starts from the top. If the President has a positive attitude, then the employees will generally have a positive attitute, and this then flows into the classroom with the students.

It is a big circle. Everyone has a part in the future of the student, the instructor, and the school. We all have to have the right attitude in order for it to work.

Agree. By having a positive attitude when working with students, you can help sheift their attitude if its negative

I agree, and I have seen this with my own attitude some times when things go wrong and I end up stopping the class and apoligizing to them and have them help me get back on track.

very true... if you have a bad attitude student feed off of it and starts acting the same...

As an Instructor I like to keep a positvie attitude, then I can see my students staying motivated, williness to learn, and participate, and most important not giving up
