I learned that although the learning evironment will be remote, it is of great importance to establish classroom rapport. To do so remotely, you must first allow your students to know who you are professionally and as a human being. Sharing your professional experience allows them to still see you as the "authority," or most knowledgeable in the room. However to in order maintain this authority that you must get to know your students in the same manner so that you can create your planning to suit your class environment and meet the needs of the students.
