I have had my share of "Stubborn Students" in my class.  There have been times when a student will feel that what they have to say is much more important that what I am presenting to the class.  When this happens, I try to defuse the situation quickly, rather than allow the disruption to continue.  If this is unsuccessful, I have the student leave the class room.  Often I have found that when a student behaves as such, the issues involved have little to do with the class, but often are personal problems the the student is unable to deal with constructively.  At this point, I request that a member of the administration help the student.
