Cameras on in Zoom?

With the proliferation of Zoom live instruction, should students always have their cameras on during sessions?

Group Size in Synchronous Learning

Does anyone have any recommendations on the optimal group size for a synchronous on-line learning environment? Big enough where there is meaningful interaction, but not so big where learners can just check out without being noticed.

How do other instructors encourage and manage discussion groups to help ensure that even natural introverts, or students with busy schedules, take the time to participate in the group and provide, at least occasional, thoughtful input to the discussion?

Teaching as a Second Job - How Do You Manage it?

I am interested in hearing from others who teach, either online or in traditional setting, as a second gig. Specifically, how do you budget your time between your "day job" and your teaching job. I am a busy lawyer, and it is difficult to stay on top of what I need to manage for students, especially feedback and grading. All thoughts and comments are welcome.

How to convince a student that the best way of success is to keep current with assignments and syllabus.  Last minute turning in assignments and cramming is good for short term, but the goal should be for consistiency.
