Frank, Sounds like the voice of experience talking... yes, we've all been there. Barry Westling
Jason, Yes, any experienced instructor knows that smooth and meaningful delivery cannot happen without time, effort and preparation. And I like to feel I am giving my best in a competent and confident manner. Barry Westling
Michael, Very interesting. I'm sure many students are astonished how far they've come. Barry Westling
Kurt, Great. And of course, the instructor as much as the students, which is a win-win. Barry Westling
Mark, Yes, and unfortunately, once credibility is lost, it's awfully hard to regain ground. Students need to feel confidence about their instructors knowledge, and without adequate preparation, even the best instructor will not shine as bright as they should. Barry Westling
Michael, Life skills are so valuable for graduates seeking employment, and keeping it. Professionalism, attendance and punctuality, writing and verbal communication, math skills, and problem solving abilities are among the traits an employer will value and will contribute to sustained employment. Barry Westling
Kurt, Yes, students enroll in our programs most often to train for a new career. But their inner motivation is probably more related to achieving inner peace, satisfaction, happiness, and a better life. Barry Westling
Anne, Yes, I've seen many "aha" moments emerge during the field trip experience. Barry Westling
Ashlee, Grade-books that students can access are very helpful, but also require diligence by the instructor to keep them current. Barry Westling
Joyce, Great! I can tell you students love field trips. Contact with local dealers or manufacturers of equipment or supplies can be a great resource. Recent grads are another resource for guest speakers. While they may not have a lot of experience, they do have a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and they're familiar with the course, program, and institution. Barry Westling
