Ginessa, I can certainly understand how you feel. In an environment with higher scrutiny, we do have to be careful with how we sound on the phone. However, creating a sense of urgency in regards to deadlines can be an effective tool, if done right. Keep us posted with your results. Dr. Jean Norris
It's a great approach for working on your personally developed leads! You're right - taking the time to develop a relationship with an individual, even if they aren't going to attend your school, can help you start relationships with people who will become students. Thank you.
At what point in the conversation do you typically ask these questions? How can you use basic information gathering questions to build rapport with your students?

I'm curious, these students with whom you are having the long conversations, are they eventually visiting the campus or enrolling even if they aren't setting the appointment right away? If setting an appointment is your goal then I think your plan to use the call outline technique may help. Thanks for your post.
The brainstorming technique is a great approach Kristina. Understanding the potential obstacles and having a list of possible solutions can help you as you work with your students to come up with the best solutions for them. You seem to have the understanding that it's really up to the student and what they recognize as the best solution for them. Thanks for posting!
