Christina, it sounds like you are not only listening with your ears, but you are also using your eyes. Great job. This will allow you to have a better understanding of what the student is really saying. Dr. Jean Norris
Jaclyn, exactly right, you aren't with the student, but can understand why they may feel a certain way. Dr. Jean Norris
Jaclyn, absolutely and we have all been there. So now that you have this awareness, what are some steps you can put in place to be able to focus more? Dr. Jean Norris
Christina, interesting point. It's all about what helps you and the student feel comfortable and natural too. Maybe there is something else you could try mirroring like rate of speed or pitch. Dr. Jean Norris
Ferline, these are great points. Everyone makes mistakes and it sounds like, more importantly, that everyone collaborates, learns from them and then improves the next time that situation occurs. Dr. Jean Norris

Deborah, that's a great point. When we can remember that it's about partnering with the student to make the best decision for them, we know we are doing our job. Dr. Jean Norris
Deborah, it looks like you have practices these techniques. Great job. So tell me, based on this plan, what has been the response from your students? Dr. Jean Norris
