Brenda, I agree. Todays professional needs to understand many regulations and policies while dealing with a student. Privacy Act, FERPA, CAN SPAM, Do Not Call to name only a few. James Faulkner
Arin,I agree. For many years in financial aid I would stop and ask myself if I had provided the indepth information clearly to each student. I would ask myself: Did I answer as fully to the student as I would have to my son or daughter? Did I ensure I protected their rights while providing the accurate information they needed to make their decisions? Compliance is an action in that it takes active learning and application methods to be successful. When we measure our performance against the standard(s) we get a result. ames Faulkner
James,I am not sure what you are saying. I agree that both subjective and objective feelings take place every day at a campus. While providing service to another associate or to a student I think you have to be an objective problem solver to help many students. You can do this and still maintain compliance with the many regulations and policies we are required to follow. James Faulkner

Arin,I think you are right. Selection of a unique student or past student for a testimonial may misrepresent a normal student's experience. James Faulkner

cynthia, not to mention the loss of a student who may have invested money and months of effort on their education. James Faulkner
Shannon, I agree. In my many years of experience in education I have seen many instances of associates divulging what at the time seemed like innocent information. In one instance a husband called and asked what room his spouse was in. He was told and he went to the room and physically hurt the student. The better practice would have been to tell the caller we would pas the message to the student. Safeguarding personal information and maintaining security of our students can be very difficult at times. James Faulkner
jake,I like what you are saying. Most importantly we are proud of our product, its very competitive costs to the student, and the support services we provide to aid them while learning the many skills they need to compete in the workforce. When that pride is apparent in our associates and our students it is a powerful inducement to our future students. James Faulkner
Aarika,I like your comments Everyone wins when we do the right thing. James Faulkner

jake, I agree. Entering college and choosing the right program is a responsibility both the student and the associate share. The associate using facts about the program and interviews the student to find the correct match. An awesom responsibility. James Faulkner
Donna, I too have many years in FA. The federal Student Aid Handbook contains guidance for many of the rules and regulations that all educators are required to follow. I believe that our mission statement, the values of our associates and our students and the empowerment it entails compliments and surpasses regulatory standards. James Faulkner
