Dave, Great examples. So I know that yu are familiar with using questioning as a tool. Judy Mohammed
Adam, Great advice. Please be sure to share it with new teachers. Judy Mohammed
Eric, That is great advice. It is so easy to let the one students answer but we need to be vigilant about class participation from all students. Judy Mohammed
Kevin, This is very true. Lectures and texts are great, but they really appreciate real world discussions or illustrations. Judy Mohammed
Terry, Students really appreciate when we ask them real world questions so that they can actually practice real world experiences. Judy Mohammed
Joe, These are very good examples. Do you use more open questions or closed ones? Judy Mohammed
Robin, these are all good pieces of advice. I always plan(and write) my questions into my lessons. I learned the value of this many years ago and I still use it. Judy Mohammed
Lance, Many times we forget that we can draw from the knowledge and experiences of our colleagues, so it is great that you recommend this to new teachers. Judy Mohammed
James, This really depends on the teacher and the material being taught. Many times it is better to use closed questions in technical classes. Open questions, though, can give very good feedback from students as to their understanding of the material. Judy Mohammed
Steven, This is a very good method, which I'm sure is very effective. Judy Mohammed
