Katie, With a lot of post-secondary career schools in the news lately, hurting the reputation of the school is one thing we don't want to do. Word of mouth is swift and one bad seed can lead to many others. Kathie Dherit

Adrienne, Not only are we losing trust in our students when FERPA is violated, but like you stated, identify theft. There is so many companies that have had breaches in their systems, that we don't need to add to the list of companies. Great statement. Kathie Dherit
Cindy, Mistakes do happen. It is those instances that are not mistakes and are done intentionally. If something is done intentionally or repeatedly it then becomes an issue. Kathie Dherit

Erik, And "bragging" about stats that are untrue, or no documentation to back them up, makes the company untrustworthy. If a company comes across that way, their business may fail once it was made known that these stats were untrue. Kathie Dherit

Jeffrey, A substantial misrepresentation is any misrepresentation on which the person to whom it was made could reasonable be expected to rely, or has reasonable relied on that information. These are prohibited in all forms - advertising, promotional materials, marketing, sale of courses or programs of instruction offered by the institution. Therefore, the most severe consequence then would be termination. Some of those examples would be not stating the graduation or graduate employment rate (stating it is good or a % different than what it actually is); telling a student that wants to go to a 4 year institution that… >>>

Jovan, There are so many tools that the schools gives not only admissions but faculty and staff to be able to give anyone the correct information. It is all readily available. Kathie Dherit
Ross, Correct, explaining a "negative" is still being transparent. Giving them the good and the bad will only make the prospective student trust the school more. Kathie Dherit

Natalie, Right, they not only we feel like they were taken advantage of, but it was possibly the last choice of what they wanted to do. A last minute decision that they may regret and then not be fully invested in their schooling. Kathie Dherit
