Susan, Right, our school, programs, equipment, etc should speak for themselves. We have nothing to hide and everything we do and say should be truthful! Kathie Dherit
Joseph, There are so many places that this information is located, that you should be able to find correct and up-to-date information to give to the prospective or current student. Kathie Dherit
Connie, I agree with you. Showing what to expect when out in the real world, will give the students an idea of what they are in for. If they love to cook, but don't want to work long hours on their feet, then perhaps culinary is not for them. Kathie Dherit
Tricia , Disclosing all of that information up front lets prospective students know exactly what to expect, including what they will be doing in the field. It gives them a better understanding of what they will encounter, which will help in their decision. Kathie Dherit
Tara, This is true. Also, there are times where you think you are just giving a simple example to a student or a prospective student where you may be divulging too much information or the example is too specific and that prospective student knows who you are talking about without you even giving a name. Generalizing the example is a good way to give your examples if needed. Kathie Dherit
Tracy, Correct, because then you will know that the information you are giving the student is correct and accurate. Kathie Dherit
Stephanie, Well said, and again if you aren't sure tell the student that we can get that information and get back to them. There is enough information and resources to use so that we can give them the correct information. Kathie Dherit

David, Correct, and saying we have the latest and greatest equipment is difficult to say, when it is constantly changing. Although saying industry-modeled is more the norm, because we would typically have the same equipment found in the industry. Kathie Dherit

Paul, Correct, and they may not understand all of the information we are giving them, but then it's the school responsibility to explain it correctly. Kathie Dherit
Heidi, Great motto! It's completely true, if you are unsure what you can give out then don't! Kathie Dherit
