Gregory, These are great criteria; would you use a rubric to communicate that? Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Alicia, Great post, I am finding more tools to help students improve their deficiencies without overwhelming the faculty to create the resource. Publishers have many resources. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Elizabeth, You make a great point. It does surprise me that many instructors see assessments as a one way street pointing to learners. We have responsibility too. Great post! Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Robin , It is pretty authentic! When you have them incorporate their learning in their real world you are helping them make that connection that is so important. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Cynthia, Interesting, how would that be considered authentic assessment? Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Donald, I would love to take your course!!!! I agree with you. To really get project management you have to use case based, scenario based learning. You have to let them see the role all part of project management play and what happens when a part goes down. You can't do that with an objective exam. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Robin , I think that is a great strategy of assessment. You can really temper the subjectivity of the subjective evaluation by using rubrics. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Donald, Interesting point. I too prefer a combination. I do think authentic assessments are very much accepted in other skills. I like to see them. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Robin , Great post! You are right, the assessment should reflect the outcomes. To ensure mastery of a subject; multiple assessment must be done. I think we think when we give a test, that we are done. That test may only tell one side of a "story" . Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Robin , You make a great point; do you need an assessment at a certain point. Timing is everything. The tool also should measure what you want it to measure. You should not have to make it fit! Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
