Agnes, You make such a great point. I actually had this situation happen. My institution bought software that was easy to use for the student, easy to design an assessment for the instructor; but I could not get the results in a meaningful fashion. It was horrible. Amanda, You are right. So many people just see assessment as a tool to evaluate students. Assessment will give the instructor information that may help improve delivery and/or techniques in teaching. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Lindsay, I understand what you are saying. You really need several strategies when using technology assessment tools. I too teach a writing course and I actually use video capture to review the paper using audio grading . I talk through the paper and make electronic comments. Students love it. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson

Julie Ann, You are exactly right! We seem to think we need to change the content but we may not be able to. The process to change curriculum varies from institution to institution but it can be arduous. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
