I'm glad to hear about this in-service program. I hope it has led to better a relationship between the departments. It appears to have benefited the students as well.

That's effective if the dream they had was realistic, but do you ever encounter a student whose dream far exceeded the scope of the course or the ability of the school to deliver?

Building tighter relations with students is a hot topic. What does your school do to foster better relationships? Are you successful with all students? If so, how do you manage to accomplish that?
How often have you found that student expectations are materially different than yours, Nancy? How do you resolve those differences?

I'm confused by your entry, Jeff. Do you mean that attendance has improved since you started calling students? Your entry says that attendance has dropped [gone down] since implementing the calling strategy.
