Yes this is true Cara. Students have a variety of issues that we've got to assist with. Sometimes it can be tough to listen to their issues and help them deal. Over time, we start to see patterns in the kinds of problems students bring to us and we develop standard ways of helping them through.
That's frustrating about the cheating Diane but something really important to keep in mind. If students cannot be honest in grading papers, we can't delegate this task to them.
