A difficult challenge indeed John and one that many instructors face. Sometimes the pendulum swings too far in one direction and sometimes the other. Every day, we've got to concentrate on doing our best to live somewhere between procrastination and immediacy.
Interesting self analysis Antoinette! People often strive to reach a balance between these two things. It sounds like in your case, the pendulum sometimes swings in one direction and then in another.
Sounds like a great plan Scott! For those of us who have a problem with immediacy, task prioritization s the best solution. At first, holding off on completing all tasks at once may feel uncomfortable, but you get used to it when you experience the benefits of working this way.
Wow, sounds like you are really on top of things Tracy-Ann. That's wonderful. I imagine you are the kind of instructor who has a challenge taking a break. Know that it's ok to take a step back every once in a while and enjoy.
Sounds like you have a great system in place Marianne. It's nice when administrations and groups of faculty members organize around common grading systems - particularly those that save time.
That is tough Susan. It seems like middle and high schools these days are focusing less on grammar and spelling than ever before. This can be a big challenge in grading.
Excellent to hear Christopher. It's amazing how much MORE energy we have after we expend some through exercise.
Sounds like a great approach and plan Trinidad. It's nice to know that you understand and accept that certain stressors cannot be completely eliminated. This can really help set expectations for yourself.
Thanks for sharing Hayat. Some instructors have to use essay questions due to the nature of their course material. That's ok. I like your approach to grading. Sounds like you save a lot of time that way.

Sounds like a challenge Jill. For out of date texts and lack of adequate course material, try asking text book publishers for supplementary materials. You never know what you'll find.
