About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Kevin, It is always good to ease the silent student into a very nonintimidating environment. Silent students open up more when the setting is small. Patricia Scales
Hi Raymond, Students need to be held accountable, otherwise some are not going to do what is required of them. Patricia Scales
Hi Randy, Awesome way to show course relevancy. I love how you are honest with the students, but you really end on a positive note. Patricia Scales
Hi Donna, Students get the relevancy in a course as such. They are doing exactly what they will be doing in the real world. Patricia Scales
Hi Shaelyn, Awesome use of technology. Students love it when you put their excellent work on display! Patricia Scales
Hi ROBBIN, I concur! Excitement truly starts with the instructor. The instructor's excitement is no doubt very contagious. No one likes/wants a dull instructor. Patricia Scales
Hi Joseph, Yes, you have it! Preparation is a must. Your confidence is much higher when you are prepared. No one knows it all. When you do not know, admit it, and move on. Find the answer and share once answer is known. Patricia Scales
