Dr. Ryan Meers

About me

I have a passion for education and especially for ensuring that all of us continue to apply what we have learned.  I am excited about the opportunity that the Lounge provides for all of us to discuss how we are applying what we have learned & to share those great ideas.

I have had a varied background from secondary education to corporate training & now working in the career college sector.  But while I have moved in different circles it has always been surrounding my passion of education.  I look forward to our conversations.

Kevin, this is a great point & so we need to understand how they approach this & not necessarily how we do. Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
Mark, you are exactly right & we've tried to bring that out in the course content. These are generalities & as you said, everyone is a unique individual & so we have to be very careful here. Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
Brian, yes, this is very true. Taking the time to explain the "why" & the value/benefits as you said it well worth it to help with engagement. Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
Brian, that's great as you can find the ideas that work for you. Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
Brian, this is a great idea as the student who has the disability then can fully listen to the lecture & what is being covered. Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
William, officially you can't help them until they disclose to you that they have a diagnosed learning disability. Short of that, you can just encourage them to come to you & seek help if they are struggling. Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
