George, I agree. In addition, it is important that school resources (Library, learning centers, etc.) are constantly revised and that new acquisitions are made to keep pace with industry standards. Tremayne Simpson

James, This is an effective implementation of student input. Instead of asking for the student's opinion prior to presenting a new concept, I feel that it is best to implement it and then ask for their reaction. I feel that this process eliminates negative perceptions and thoughts regarding the introduction of new course content. Tremayne Simpson

George, Creating an effective "speaking pace" is a common issue for many instructors. Generally, it does not mean that the instructor "is a fast talker", however they feel that they are in a "race against time" to delivery all of the scheduled material for the day. An excellent method to overcome this, is to create "check-in" points that enable the instructor to see if student have questions and to provide appropriate transition to the next topic. Ellen, What methods do you use to implement the additional material, that is not used during the lecture? Tremayne Simpson
Jim, This is an excellent method for "staying on track" in the class. In addition, it is a great way for the students to know when learning objectives have been met. Tremayne Simpson
olga, I agree. In addition, "Post Tests" are equally important, because it gives the instructor an opportunity to assess the "transfer of training" that occured during the course. Tremayne Simpson

Michael, This is an excellent example of how subtle student input can positively effect the class lesson plan. If you did not receive the student input, you may not have known about the specific topics that needed to presented in class. Tremayne Simpson

dan, This sounds like an effective method for managing class time. I have also created a grading category ("professionalism") that encompasses that accounts for topics such as: time management, participation and preparedness for the class session. Tremayne Simpson
Jim, Excellent methods for integrating technology! Whenever possible, it is a great idea to enable students to use their personal electronics during the class session. This naturally produces more student participation from the class. Tremayne Simpson
