LE, I agree with your format for time management. The key is to have "flexability" in regards to conducting the class session. "Overpreparing" is the best route to go when planning the lesson and any "excess" material can be used during another class session or provided to the students for additional, "outside of class" review. Jessica, It is a great idea to incorporate the student portal, whenever possible. Also, instead of taking up important classtime, many assignments (quizzes, activities, etc.) can be provided online, which will encourage the students to use technology. Tremayne Simpson

Van, I have also used this method during classroom presentation. I find that the students are more apt to actively participate during class, if they already have the information from the slides available to them. Whenever they have to take notes from the slides, they may spend more effort trying to "copy" the information than listening to the instructor. Tremayne Simpson

Carmen, I agree. In addition, it is also important for them to understand "why they are being tested". The learning taxonomy provides a "checks and balances" system that supports instructor assessment. The assessments are used to see if a student is prepared to handle more-advanced coursework and application. Tremayne Simpson
