Ricardo, I agree with your comments. In addition, the survey completion rates are important for determining where adjustments/revisions should be made in the course. Allowing your student to do a hands on, practical activity after your demonstration can provide an instant "transfer of training" assesment for the instructor. If the students are not able to complete the activity, then the instructor will know that they may have to review the lesson. Tremayne Simpson

Jason, I have used similar games for exam review, as well. It is interesting to see how eager the students are to study course material in preparation for a "review" session, based on their natural competitive instincts. It's worth giving up a few extra credit points, to ensure that the students are prepared for an examination. Tremayne Simpson

Jeremy, This can be a "tricky" situation...I believe that the first thing to do is to discuss the available budget with your supervisor. Sometimes there is a budget available for acquiring new materials/technology, however faculty and students may have to provide inquiry to administration. Tremayne Simpson

At times, the students may get discouraged with a particular assignment or assessment, however the instructor must review the "map" and remind their students about how the class will impact their future.
