pretests

I like the idea of pretests. I teach pt care classes and I am always amazed at what students think is ok to do when they are the student and not the patient.

Hi Jesse:

One of the benefits of using pretests is they may help reveal what kind of learning style your student uses. Knowing this may help you create more effective lesson plans.

Hi Amy:
Pretests are also a great way to see how your student learns which can allow the instructor to make more effective lesson plans.

Hi Adarian:
Also, if the instructor can gain a sense of what kind of learner the student is (VAK), and a large enough group learns similarly, an instructor can make effective lesson plans to facilitate that learning style.

Pretests can be a good and bad thing. I have found that if your whole class do poorly on the pretest they accuse the previous teachers of not doing their job. Definitely a tricky situation.

never used one,but thinking of trying

I like pretests also for two reason, it gives me information on the student knowledge base and second it allso gives information to the student on what is expected for them to know.
