Importance of Lesson Plans

It is extrememly important to prepare good lesson plans and always prepare for the unexpected. It is better to have too much to cover than too little. Extra material can always be saved to cover at another time.

I find it helpful to have a good lesson plan. It reminds me of the things that I have done in case I forget important topic. Also, it helps me to track down topics/assignments to give to the students in case they are absent.

Lesson plans are also guides a instructor can follow as to stay on course during teaching one or several courses. As a instructor it is highly effective and important to follow a outline, because there are so many things that need a instructors attention, pre- planned lesson plans are ideal.

I agree lesson plans are very valuable for an instructors preparation in the class. Lesson plans help you as an instructor stay on course with teaching the objectives for the class.

Our entire department worked collaboratively to create, review and revise lesson plans for each unit of instruction. It took a year but it is such a great tool for newer instructors as well as veteran instructors. Its helpful to me to look back and assess how a particular exercise worked and what changes I would like to make as a result.

A teacher should always be prepared to come to
class with lesson plans.Just like a soldier
who comes to the front adequately prepared
for eventualities.

Saving completed lesson plans is useful. Over several years of instruction, I have evolved the details to apply to new textbook editions and reference materials. I often review older plans to make sure that my core objectives have remained constant and fit the essence of the subject.

Lesson plans are very important to have especially if the students have different learning styles. Having it written down, helps me stay on track. I write it on the board, so the students know what they are going to learn that day/week.

I always make my lesson plans in the beginging of each class and give them tot he students as topical outline. This helps to keep students to stay on track in the class.
