setting the right example

we preach customer service and fixed right first time,
we need so set the example by giving the student the same with the material we teach

Or foul language.

You're right, Michael. Students mirror our passion, organization and, as you said, all areas of professionalism. In fact, I have found that we are not only representatives of teaching, but also of our specific disciplines, the employment community, and even career education in general - in essence, the main connection among subject, school, gaols and outcomes.

I believe you are on target. We must show accountability, creditability, responsibility , and professionalism at all times as instructors. I think one way of showing these things are being very consistant with everything we do, like being on time.

By showing the right way to do something and explaining why it must be done that way, and then explaining what could happen if it is done the wrong way so they know and understand the reason.

lead by example and the students will follow

Asemble things correctly, and your speed will come with time, Is how I instruct my student. This allows them to feel more relaxed knowing they can improve with time.

Ya that's a first

Do not use fowl language in class.

I believe their are many ways to set the right example but it all comes done to the same answer.
We must stay consistant with responsibility, creditabiltiy, accountability, and professionalism.
We as instructors are graded, educated, motivated, participate in setting the right example for our students and industry is demanding just that so we must stay focus in the preparation of our students for a ever changing world they are about to enter.
We are letting electronics coach, educate and communicate but these devices can't instill moral values and good work ethics needed for today's demanding work force.

I agree with this, and it spreads to so many more areas also. We have rules of professionalism that we expect the students to follow, yet I have seen many instructors not following those rules themself. If the role models are not following the rules, why should the people that are looking up to them.
