Course prep
The outcome of a course may depend on the prep at the beginning
I definitely agree that working the activities and homework myself is a good idea. As a math teacher of many years, I have used books in which the exercises and assignments appeared to be written by a different author than the author of the discussion and examples! I have learned that the only way I can be sure the homework is accomplishing it's purpose is to also do the work myself. Working the assignments also lets me know if I am giving too much or too little homework.
I BELIEVE COURSE PREP MAY AFFECT HOW THE CLASS COMES OUT BUT GETTING THERE EARLY AND SETTING THINGS UP FROM A PREVIOUS CLASS I THINK IS MORE IMPORTANT BECASUE YOU CAN ONLY PLAN FOR YOUR CLASS
I think one thing that most people forget is that knowledge and experience does not always prepare you to instruct; reading, reviewing and working the activities and homework yourself can also help you to be more prepared for all learning styles.
Course prep is a must, but being flexible is just as important. The best prep should aid in changes (weather, events, etc.), not hinder. I have seen to many people try and follow plans to the letter, only to have outside forces bottleneck them.
Course prep is everything for a successfull outcome
Course prep is a crucial component to having a successful course
I agree. This is essential to the lesson plan and flow of the information presented.
I believe that course prep is very important but is not limited to material planning. Knowlege of the students age group (generation), backgrounds and desires are also very important factors for the instructor to consider. This information can help the instructor fine tune his/her delivery of the lesson.
