Examples
I find that by using different types of examples for students not only helps them remember the content, but also gives them a chance to learn me and other students in the class.
In addition to giving students examples on the materil myself, I also give them a chance to think of an example and share it with the class. This helps them remember the material in a more significant way since they are able to make a connection to their own life.
i have tried to have my students use an example due to the fear of the class getting out of control and losing their focus i am however open to trying it and see if it will work if it provers to be useful that is great if not then i can always find another approach
examples are a great way for students to retain information usually when i give examples i do something outlandish that gets the attention of all my class for example when i lecture on giving am care and wakeing up your patient i will go out into the class and catch someone by surprise and holler their name and shake their shoulder which startles them and the rest of the class but it does help them to remember that this is not the way to approach a patient that is sleeping
it also relaxes the atmosphere in the class so that everyone gets a laugh and learns something in the process
