Time Management

We all only have 24 hours in a day, therefore, it is imperative that we use our time efficiently and effectively. We have to allocate our time for work, class, grading, family, etc. Whew I am tired!!!

Time management is one of my best topics to discuss. I create a life management schedule for each session for myself. The life management schedule is a schedule of how I schedule out my time for the entire day. It helps me to see where I spending to much time or not enough time. My life management schedule allows me to see that I do have enough time in the day to complete what I need to complete overall.
The schedule consists of obviously my work day period and then there is a block for when I go to the gym, there is another block for when I grade papers, dance practice, meditation time, family time etc.

I completely agree with you! I wish I could find more time in my everday to get everything done. However I feel very strongly with time managment and it is a huge key of how successful an individual will become whether on a professional level or a student level.

I find that using an off day from school to prep for classes, makes things much easier when I arrive with everything all done up and ready to present.

My best time of day is in the evening. I am currently a special education teacher during the day and online professor part time during the evening. I often joke that I wish I could add a couple of more hours in the day. I do schedule time and tasks based on my full time job.

Boy, are you right Pamela. There is a limited time in each day for work. I have found that for myself it is important not only to prioritize my time, but to get up early and maximize my own personal rhythm. Maybe others are night-persons, but I find I do my best "mind-intensive" work in the morning, and if I give myself the benefit of a workout some time during "prime time" hours (5-7) it helps give me a pick-me-up to keep going later in the evening.

What about others? What are your best work times? Do you schedule your time and tasks based upon these sorts of considerations?
