Time Management

Prioritize with a blackberry schedule reminder. It is qiuck and easy to do.

I could not agree more strongly with this suggestion. When people complain about not being able to remember every small task, appt, return call, etc, I suggest to them to use the one thing that most of us carry around all day. Your telephone! Whether it's a Blackberry or the simplest pay-as-you-go phone, they all have some kind of task list or calendar that can be easily filled with brief notes. I religiously use my Blackberry to remind me of all the things I need to get done on a daily basis (and that I'm not getting done!). It has an option to set calendar or task alarms so I get a little buzz in my pocket when there's something that needs to be done. It works like a charm and it beats carrying around a personal organizer book.

I agree that technology has made it much easier to manage time with outlook, blackberry's, calendars that come up on your computer it is so much easier to keep track of upcoming dates and stuff. However, it only works if you put everything that comes up into it. I personally keep a date book to keep track of what comes up with extra hours at the perdiem job, I plan quizzes weekly for my students, and use my outline to see where I am at.

I agree with what you say that it depends on what works for you. I, personally, still use just a small notebook that I have in my pocket that I keep track of my schedule with. I know I may be bucking the electronic age, but it works well for me. I like the immediacy of it, and it keeps me on task as well as a blackberry or other ways people use to manage time effectively.

Today’s technology has made it possible to use mobile devices to keep track of your schedule. I have a Blackberry but I’m not too good at using it for daily function such as reminders and scheduling. I too think it is time consuming to enter such data into the phone. Perhaps you could use the data manager and sync the outlook calendar to the phone. I’m not disregarding the method; it depends on what works well for you.

I think it is too time consuming to enter appointments into my phone but I know for others it works well.
