Write it down
I think the process of writing your tasks down is a very good thing to do since it lets you cross off tasks as you complete them and you don't forget anything.
I find reminders app on my smart phone help me keep my tasks on track, it alert me when I should start and complete the task also set priority level.
I just recently perched an Asus Tablet, and I have started to incorporate it into my daily activities. Writing down and completing task can be very rewarding and productive. In the past I have written things todo at work or home on paper and i have lost the paper. So I'm trying somthing new.I think this will work for me.I save the notes and I always have My Tablet with me.
Cheryl, Some instructors are just made that way. Sounds like a good way to be. Much easier than being a procrastinator when it comes to getting things done.

I am a write it down check it off person. It is very helpful to organize your day and clear your mind so you dont forget to do certain tasks.
I always carry a Post-It note pad in my lab coat. During the day I jot everything down- whether it's questions from a student, or things that need to be attended to before leaving work for the day. Jotting things down helps to free my mind so I can move forward to other tasks.
I always make up a list of tasks that I have to take care of. Once its on paper, its out of my head, and I don't feel as much stress for some reason. After having everything written down, it is really easy to form a plan of action to take care of each task.
Ronda, Documenting tasks in your phone or other mobile device is a wonderful way to stay organized. You are right, your phone is one of those items that is almost always by your side. Many people check their phone first thing the morning, before even going to the bathroom.

I am a huge fan of writing down my tasks, that way I can clear my head for other things! I have discovered that making my task lists and putting them in memo form on my phone works best for two reasons: one is that I don't need to worry about losing the paper its written on and the second is that my phone is always with me and I can access the list whenever I need to. =)
I have been a "write it down" person since childhood. I'm a firm believer it works. However, I keep a daily list and an ongoing list. I form my daily list the day before or in my head on my drive to work (and then write it down). This allows me to have daily focus. My on-going list is just that. Items that may need done a week, month, or several months from now. That way I can see where I'm going and pick items out to do if I have spare time.
James,Yes - so true. Writing things down on paper gets them out of our minds. It's a great feeling when we can return to other thoughts and not have to constantly think about everything that's on our plate.

Sometimes we get pressed for time and we can forget things that are important. When we write things down and check off our to do list it can relieve stress.
I think writing down tasks help but the problem is sometimes those moments where you get sidetracked and have something pop up in the middle of completing a task. Usually you cant write down what you need to do then.
Kellie, Easier said than done. The first step to good time and stress management is knowing what to do. The second step is actually doing it. Looks like you're making good progress in the right direction.
