Making Lists
I had to adopt making lists early in my teaching career becasue I was often overwhelmed as well as suffering from immediacy.
I have made lists my whole life. Probably learned that in 1st or 2nd grade. It is such an easy way to get things done without forgeting stressing.
I am the same way. I have to write everything down, because if not, it will be gone from my mind and will never get done. Making a list and prioritizing is a necessity for me.
Colby, Yes, sometimes we get to a point where it simply isn't possible to manage all the tasks we've received without some kind of organizational system. That's when lists come in handy. They are not right for all of us, just those with too many tasks to keep track of in our heads.

I too had to start making lists. It really helps me remember all the things I need to do. It also helps me prioritize my time much more efficiently.
I always make a list, It helps me to remember the tasks and to put them in order of urgency. My task lists changes all the time but it helps me stay in order.
I find that making lists helps me to remember everything I need to do. If it's not on the list, it often doesn't get done.
Barbara, It sounds like you made the right choice. Sometimes, when we are overwhelmed by our tasks, we are forced to make changes to the way we manage our time that benefit us greatly in the long term. Sounds like this is the case with you!
