Stress

Why is it that when students come to class and they don't want to be there they disrupt the whole class with their attitudes and then the other students get stressed out what can be done

I often stress the importance of why the student is there in the first place, and give them the option of not learning and leaving to do as they please, but also enforce attendance policy, as well as letting the student know about the participation points they too will also be losing.

Roy, I like how you mention talking to the student first. That's a great first step in getting transparency into the problem. Often times, this step is overlooked and problems are harder to diagnose.

Dr. Melissa Read

If a student does not want to be in the class, he or she should leave the class instead of disturbing others. They stay there because of attendance requirements. Class Participation points would help to control such behavior.

I would talk to the student, find out what is going on then ask the student behave themselves or send them to the suppervisor.
