Taking Control Of your time
Knowing what you want to accomplish and know what you need to accomplish is the first step in controlling your time. If what I want to accomplish can be put off for a later time then this will allow me the extra time need for accomplishing the things that I need to accomplish without time constraints.
Paul, Sometimes when this happens, I recommend task delegation, or even pushing back on tasks that may not be appropriate for you to be taking on in the first place.

To do lists are great until you realize that yours grows faster than you can physically complete tasks on them. There are only so many hours you can work in a day before getting burned out and not being able to do anything.
I also have a to do list which is so great when at the end of the day--I cross off my accomplishments. good feeling that things were done on time. Love Sticky Notes!!!!
Jason, Crossing items off your list is an absolutely wonderful feeling! It's great to be able to track progress. For this reason, many people will cross off items when compared to deleting them if they are maintaining their list on a computer.

It wasn't until recently that I started using the "to do list". I have found it to be very effective and rewarding. When I am preparing to leave the office for the day if several things are crossed off my list I feel great about my day and usually reward myself with some R&R once I get home.
I agree, "To Do List" are apart of my personal and professional life. They help me keep track of my tasks so that I don't forget, and they give me a sense of accomplishment when I am able to cross something off.
I completely agree. I often find that making a list will help me prioritize this. Without list making, I don't always do the most important thing first.
