My Space
Defining your space is critical. Others will try and "max" their space without regard to yours. A clasr understanding right off the bat will help develop mutual respect and a good relationship
Yes, this sounds like a great approach Roger. When we share spaces, we have to think carefully about the most efficient way to use them.
when you have more then one instructor who teaches a class. it seems to work well if you have one drawer for the handout, papers and things that are passed out in one place and that all the instructors who teach the same class are familer with thew lay out of the room. then they can free up some of there space for stuff related to their particular class.
I currently have another instructor sharing a cubicle with me. For the most part it works ok but at times the desk can get a little messy. I would prefer to have my own desk again but will make the best of it.
We have 2 or 3 instructors teaching the same class in our classroom so we communicate well and use one drawer of our file cabinet to organize copies of sign-off sheets, inventory sheets, etc.
Defining your space is critical for a good and healty work space relationship. We have multiple instructors sharing the same space but at different times of the day. Knowing that your work is safe and others are not messing with it is a comforting thought.
I agree Tim - it's that old saying "good fences make good neighbors". It is important in any relationship that boundaries are clear and respected.
