I find that a messy desk actually adds the time to an instructor considering that when they need to look for something, they have to spend more time to look for this item. I usually put things in order in my desk so that when I need something specific, I know exactly where it may be.
I have to clean my kitchen before I can cook dinner!
SOme people I work with in my law firm have messy desks and offices yet they know where everything is. I on the other hand cannot work properly if my desk is a mess. I am the same way with my house. I cannot relax until the house is picked up. Everyone is different.
To an extent, this is true Judith. Those who invest more in maintaining a healthy appearance do communicate something about themselves.
