I must be organized I had it trust apon me from my father. It has turned out to be a good thing.
I agree if you have clutter, it ruins your time management goal
I find that a larger desk only leads to more clutter and more disorganization. I moved into a smaller work space and this forced me to organize more.
I am the opposite. I work better with a few different piles and a slightly unorganized space. Even at home, my husband scolds me for not matching my socks. I tell him it is organized chaos, but it works for me.
It's good that you know yourself Jennifer. For some instructors, a cluttered desk works fine. Often times, even though the desk appears messy, they know where everything is. For other instructors like you, organization is critical.
They say a clutterd desk is a clutterd mind. i agree with that. If my desk is a mess Im a mess. If Im a mess my students are a mess..
I cannot focus when there is clutter but I have control over that. As for chaos in my work enviroment, I have very little control over and I have a difficult time focusing.
Organization is the key to not getting stressed. What good is it if you have to go through piles of papers each time your looking for something in particular.
I also have to be very organized in order to work. I cannot work in a chaotic environment or with others who work that way.
My ambition and my thoughts are to unclutter my desk while completing tasks.
