Revising Course Materials
Even if an instructor has taught the class many times previously, it is always a good idea to decide whether or not the course materials are still up-to-date and utilize innovative instructional methodologies.
Laura, That approach sounds right. It's important to both understand your audience as well as what you are communicating. Finding a match between the two is key, and sometimes that means making adjustments.

I, also, review the material. I, also, look at the student population. I may have to revise the material to better suit the student population and update materials as needed.
I absolutely agree with you.I teach the same series of classes, but sometimes it will be several cycles between times that I teach one class. Each time I go back to a class, I take some time to go through my lesson plans and take notes on new things that I have learned, or ways in which I can improve the class from last time.
