Students are very technology saavy. it is important to include this in the classrooms.
I too am a mature instructor and technology is not a strong suit of mine. In the past, I have called on students to help me out during lecture when I am having "computer" issues...I am now enrolled in online classes and am becoming quite familiar with the technology. We are also utilizing Turning Technologies in our lectures, powerpoint slides are made with built in questions and each student receives "clickers" in which they respond and the answers are recorded-great assessment. You can see right then what percentage of your students "got it".
Cesar, I know it can be hard to keep up, especially when we feel like we have to play catch up with all the latest technology. Jumping in is the hardest part. Once in, we can evolve with the technology and it's a little easier.

I'm a 54 year old men trying to keep up with technology to be able to communicate and help my students for better formation and learning experience but is hard to stay and track with this new gadgets and new trends, I try to learn and get more training with this subject every day or any time is have to become more savvy and stay with times is worthy

One of my goals for every new semester is to find a new piece of technology to use!
Michael, That's great. No matter what our age, technology can be our greatest tool in the classroom. I'm glad to hear you have taken the lead and gotten to be an expert in this area. I imagine this is a big time saver for sure.

Being an older instructor, I amaze my much younger students with my knowledge of state of the art tech. It really does pay to keep up with tech!
