Eliminating Stress

making a stressors list and plan to revisit this list as a part of your weekly todo list

This is a great idea! I agree that it helps to recognize what is causing stress in your life.

Kathy, That sounds like a great approach. The challenge is that when we try not to think of something, it can be a bit difficult in that we sometimes think about that thing even more. It sounds like you've found some great ways to clear your head and ones that many of us could learn from.

Stress can make us all ill as well as make our lifes unbearable...I have found that if you take long walks and do not allow yourself to focus on anyone thing and take time to face your stresser head on and resolve it all together instead of reliving it over and over..Your life is much more productive and less stressful...

I've never made a list of stressors and, frankly, never thought about doing so. But after having read this course, I think writing them down makes you actually look at what's a stressor. Then, hopefully, by writing it down and having it stare you in the face, as you say, might relieve some the stress. Also looking at it in writing will make you think about it and if it really is as stressful and it is in your head.

I agree with making a list of things that tend to stess me out. I believe that writing the list and reviewong it helps me to be aware when the stress items are getting to me and take appropriate action to relieve the stress inducers.

Everyone has different stressers and we do need to recognize and deal with them.

Being as efficient as possible with grading is helpful. I have students grade their own quizzes as we review the correct answers. This is quicker grading for me and an extra review for them.

I believe that a stressors list is a good start in eliminating stress.

Georgia, Yes, that's a great point. Some of us are tempted to make our lists but then avoid looking at them. Looking at our lists makes us face realities that can be overwhelming. It's important to face our lists head on though to make progress.
