Stress & Productivity
Being too stressed out can cause less productivity because you feel overwhelmed. I liked the idea of writing down the things that stress you out so that they are clearly defined. Once that is done, it is only a matter of figuring out what you can do to combat the stressful situation.
I find too many times personal stresses affect their professional mood and efficiency. I tell my staff and my students to leave their personal issues in the car and use their time on campus as an escape from reality. I also explain to them there is no reason the stress over the things in life you have no control over. "Focus on the things you can directly effect, and you will be amazed at how accomplished you can feel".
I concur with Sara. Just like the "to do list" the same rational to help alleviate stress by writing things down may be utilized.
Having things written down will give you a visual and help you focus on things you need to change to alleviate stress.
Gregg, Yikes. That sounds like a recipe for disaster. It's always critically important to have clear objectives for each meeting. This is because we don't know what we want, we are never going to get it.

It is funny that when people are stressed out, communication is less effective, and this is the time when communication and understanding is needed the most. Earlier this week I attended a strategic planning meeting that lasted for 5 ¼ hours, and the meeting opened with the comment, “I don’t really have an agenda for the meeting, so we will go off the notes from the last meeting……
I do totally agree. Being too stressed out can cause less productively in different areas of our life.
I for one recognize that I'm more productive when I'm happy and not stressed out. I think that's the first step in stress management, owning your feelings. Thinking about what stresses me out then
seeeing what part of it is in my control is what helps me to combat the stressful situation and move through life... This took a few years to understand..
